Lots and Lots of Yachts

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Just got back from Put- In- Bay, on South Bass Island in Lake Erie. It’s the Great Lakes’ answer to Key West. In fact, it’s a lot wilder than I’ve ever seen Key West. Bars and restaurants are filled with tourists, downing island drinks like The Fishbowel, The Lemonaid Squeeze, and The [...]

Music City USA ( or murder city?)

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I’m not knocking Nashville. I love the country feel, the guitar twang and the easy way people amble up to you and say…”Howdy.” There’s 1352 guitar cases in Nashville…and anyone that unpacks his guitar can play twice as better than I will. ( John Sebation, The Lovin’ Spoonful)
But for three days, August [...]

The Contest

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

I believe I have to ask a question about one of my books. After all of us have blogged this week, we’ll take the person with the most correct answers and send them free books. But if they already know the answers, then they’ve probably read the books. So it probably makes [...]

Free Books and the gas crisis

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Next week we’re giving away free books. I think…if I paid attention in class, that we all have to come up with a question about our books. Then the responder with the most correct answers wins free books. I’m sure there will be a clear explanation in the next day or two.
Now [...]

Chicago!

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Chicago is still that todlin’ town. I don’t know exactly what that means,(to walk with short, tottering steps???) but it seems to fit. The windy city is still full of energy and vibrance. A blustery, bluesy sense of urgency that you don’t find even in New York, with it’s trendy 5th Avenue [...]

The Safest Place To Be

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

New York was great. With gas prices being what they are, with costs going up, that city hasn’t lost a step. The shops and restaurants seem to be as busy as ever. Broadway plays are sold out, and the city is bustling.
We did have dinner at 21, Lunch with the number [...]

New York New York

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

When you read this I’ll be in the big Apple. Having breakfast. I’m being interviewed by Sky Magazine, Delta’s inhouse magazine, for a feature to come out when my March 2009 release launches. If the world will still be flying at that time, you can read the article.
We’ll probably stop at Elain’s and [...]

Kenny Chesney

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

So we visited my daughter in Pittsburgh this past weekend for Father’s Day. Got in Friday night and Saturday was the Kenny Chesney concert. It’s a huge deal in Pittsburgh. The hotels are sold out weeks in advance and Chesney and company sell out Heinz Field. Buffet can’t even do that.
Friday [...]

A Boastful Blog

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Stuff To Die For, last September’s release about two clueless young guys in South Florida who buy a used box truck and get into all kinds of trouble, won two national awards this weekend in L.A. The Indie Excellence Award for best thriller/mystery, and the Foreward Magazine award for best mystery. But, most [...]

Being 24 Again

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Back in the seventies, after college, I traveled with a friend, Mike Duling, performing a two man comedy show with guitars, shoulder length hair, and half-baked songs and stories. Pre-comedy-club days, we performed at Holiday Inns, resort hotels, Playboy Clubs, Vegas lounges and just about anywhere someone would have us. I can’t go [...]
