Notes from Life

I took off Tuesday and spent the day with my sister. She actually slept most of the day. I read books and played on the computer. Quiet day indeed. She got up and we had lunch together. For me it was a wonderful experience, getting to spend two hours with Lisa, as Lisa. She tired and we went home and she went back to bed. Each day she’s improving significantly, and I can’t thank everyone enough for their thoughts and prayers. I’ve said it before, but I feel like George Bailey, who is so very lucky.

But stresses come in threes, so of course, we chose this time to sell our condo and buy a house. We’ll be listing it on February 1st. We’re in the midst of staging it, which looks like much more fun on HGTV than in real life. In real life, it’s a lot of work. There is a huge rebate going on to sell and buy so we thought this the best time to try. We’d like a bigger place, and Scooter would like a yard instead of a patio.

My draconian diet is finally over. I’ve been able to add cheese and nuts to my diet again which is a very welcome change. I’d lost 20lbs on that diet, and I’ve put 2 back on since it ended. I’m still feeling good and not using much in the way of medication. Go nutrition!

I had to put writing aside until my sister is a bit better. I can’t write when I’m too stressed. It’s like dragging a mule through the mud. It’s slow, painful, and generally not much fun. I hope to be back at it by the end of the month. I’m still reading, so I’ll have a lot to write about when I feel more like it.
