Snow Day

Today is our 3rd snow day this week. Needless to say, I haven’t been able to get back in the swing of things from our winter break yet. It’s a bit hard when we stay home more than we go. However, after today there’s no snow in our forecast for weeks, so I expect life to get back to normal then.

I’m still on the very strict diet and things are going well. I’m down 12 pounds and have another week until I can start re-introducing food into the diet. First comes dairy, and I have to be honest, even cottage cheese sounds good to me at the moment! Then some oils and nuts after that.

Work on the biography is coming along as well. It’s no small surprise that I can get a lot done when I trapped inside a house for several days. I’m still reading pulp magazines and getting information collected on the radio show for the chapter on the 1940s.

I’m off now to go read some weather appropriate mysteries. I’ve collected a Stuart Kaminsky book set in Siberia, The Finishing Stroke by Ellery Queen (a snowed in country house mystery) and Murder at Hazelmoor which involves skis.
