Different takes on the mystery genre.
Different points of view.

Random Thoughts On An Old Year and A New One.

Little odds and ends to tie up the end and celebrate the begining.
I sat down with my accountant yesterday. After going over the new taxes vs. the old taxes, he warned me to hold on to my wallet next year, because the new regime is going to raise taxes substantially. If we actually saw any results of those taxes…
I talked to a book store yesterday about my Nov. 2010 release of ‘Small Stuff’ ( still far down the road) and she said “Well you’ve got the paperback release of South Beach Shakedown in June.” I had no idea the publisher was releasing South Beach Shakedown. I love that book!
I had dinner several months ago with Casey and Zorro. A very good memory of 2009.
I’m in Florida, and while it’s cool…it’s not cold! And I’m truly greatful for the chance to have dual residency. Should be in the balmy 70s when the new year rolls in.
I love my friends. And I’m blessed with more than my share. And as the years pass I’m even softening my stand on enemies. ( No I’m not. Not close.),
I’m going to list things I need to do this year. As a terrible, terrible organization person, I find that when I do list things ( once every two or three years), they get done. Amazing.
Did I say how much I love my circle of friends?
I’m going to Face Book and Twitter more. Why? I have no idea. It seems like the thing to do. Or, maybe I’ll hire someone to manage my social networking. Yeah…that’s the ticket. Some twit to manage Twitter.
I’m not going to drink any more. Not going to drink any less either.
Love him or not, I hope Rush pulls through this health crisis.
What would next year be without him?
I want to write a screenplay in 2010. Put it on the list.
Going to a friend’s house for New Year’s Eve. On the water…and we’ll watch the ball drop on a 10 foot screen in his spacious movie theater. Ah, friends.
I remember being at Bouchercon in October when Sue Grafton came running up and gave me a hug. God, I love that woman!
And finally, as my last random blog thought of 2009, I wish most of you a Happy New Year. My enemies…not so much!

  2. Happy New Year back at you, Don! Here’s to a safe holiday and a peaceful, prosperous 2010.

  3. I look at my paycheck now and wonder how much more can everyone take out. Hell, I think I work half the year for free as it is.
