. . . and this time, she’s taking on the Windy City!
Thrilled to announce that the latest Pepper Martin mystery, Night of the Loving Dead, hits store shelves today. Since my website isn’t updated like it’s supposed to be (one of these days, they keep promising me), I’ll take the opportunity here to tell you about the book.
Pepper’s fourth adventure finds her attending a cemetery conference in Chicago. Or at least that’s what she’s supposed to be doing. True to form, Pepper’s bored, so bored that even investigating a case for an annoying ghost looks like a better option.
Before she died, that ghost (Madeline) worked with Dan Callahan, the mysterious scientist who’s helped Pepper solve a couple cases, saved her life once, and (not incidentally) makes her hormones sit up and take notice, too. Madeline insists that Dan is in danger. Trouble is to help him, Pepper needs to deal with a crazy psychiatrist who’s conducting a study where the patients go in…and never come out again.
Little does Pepper know, there’s more to the story. Like an obsessive, crazy love that just might cost her more than she ever imagined!
Enjoy!

Pepper Martin…..the only thing that makes Washington politics worth the trouble. Hey, for that matter, all politics!
Good new book…..may have taken over as my favorite Pepper book. Chick and the Dead now holding on to that spot….but….

WOW! Can’t you write faster! I finished this book in 12 hours – sorry it would have been faster but I had to eat and sleep also.
I love Pepper! Your shadowy character was really necessary for this book. The beginning of the story was a little confusing then you went and put everything into place. I enjoyed you bringing Gus, Didi and Damon back into the story. Can you have Gus bring you more ghosts in the next book? I thought that was really different.
Thanks again for writing a great read. It will be on our stores Staff Favorite reads until your next book comes out.

Thank you, Novel Place! Glad you liked the book and a big thanks for making it a Staff Favorite! The next one (“Dead Man Talking”) will be out in October…start eating too many calories now, then you won’t have to stop and eat when you read that one!
