Happy Thanksgiving!

The blessings I’ve received — and continue to receive — are more than I can recount here. Those, of course, include my family (including the extended Clemenses and Smuckers), my homes, and my church. As far as the writing world goes, here are some of the special gifts I am so grateful for:

The supportive, loving community of writers and readers in the mystery world.
That I have been published, and continue to be published, by Poisoned Pen Press.
That I was able to write and publish a book about Clayton Kratz, a Mennonite Missionary hero.
My friends on this blog — those who write it and who read it.
A husband who supports my dream.
My computers.
The way my brain works — even if some people think it’s not normal!
That my children are being taught to read by their wonderful teachers.
That there is always another good book to read.
That I have the resources to attend a few mystery conferences each year.

I’m sure there are more I’m not mentioning. If you have other writing related things to be thankful for, what are they? But also feel free to share other thanks, as well.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

  1. How about the people you blog with?
And I am particularly thankful that, for a brief time, I got to know C.R. Corwin.

  2. I should actually read your blogs a little more carefully. Obviously, you included us. It’s just that I’m still drinking that Port wine from Casey’s blog yesterday and it does funny things to my head.

  3. I understand, Don. Have you had a chance to find those cranberries?

  4. I worked picking cranberries in a bog. It was even worse if you were in a fog. Don sounds like he was ( is ) in a fog.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving, all!

At the risk of causing more trouble, I have to tell you that we’re having our tradition, once-a-year Bloody Mary. Zorro makes a fine Bloody Mary!

  6. Z.
I don’t like tomato juice so I leave it out. I think I’ll have one right now. Not bad. Maybe another one. Mmmmm. A Mary.

  8. Tell me, Z, and you would know this better than anyone. Have you ever seen Pepper peppered? I’d like to see that.
(Having another Mary as we speak. Who needs tomato juice? Uh?)

  9. Ahem…getting back to Judy’s question….

I’m grateful for my new contract. Now, can I be greedy and hope they go for my latest proposal, too?

by Lorraine Bartlett on November 28th, 2008 at 8:55 am

  10. You all seem like great people. Keep up the great work and congradulations on the new contract.

  11. I visit your blog at least twice a week.
    I find your entries refreshing.
You tend to write mostly about books, which is as it should be. I am so tired of writers blogs that post nothing but politics and complaints
I like Jeffrey’s posts the most.
Maybe it’s because I also work with middle school kids.
    Don’t stay away too long.
