Jury Duty Part 2

Well, the old song goes, “second verse, same as the first.” And indeed that’s what jury duty was like for me in week 2. I went down for my second week of jury duty. It was merely a task of sitting on my butt for 4 hours. No calls into a jury box, no calls to decide a person’s fate. The only decision I had to make was what type of donut to select from the jury room selection (for the record it was a sticky roll.)

Many of the people I sat with were selected for voir dire. Lots of them came back too. Apparently the lawyers involved were being extremely picky about who sat on their juries. It took 2 days for one jury to be seated. Little did they know that I was seated the whole time.

I’m officially done with jury duty today. The only mystery I got close to was reading the latest books for the Edgar competition (I’m at 356 for those keeping track..)

Next week I promise to blog about something other than my civic duty, but for now the jury rests.

  1. I’ve always thought it would be fun to be part of a jury. You’ve changed my mind…

  2. My favorite donut is jelly filled. I used to work at a donut shop in Idaho and the favorite was glazed.

  3. I’m with you on glazed, Orroz! Haven’t had one in years, but they’ve always been my favorite.
