    An interesting couple of days

    Hey, C.R.
You probably know that Brian Johnson is the lead singer for ACDC. You know the band…Highway to Hell, You Shook Me All Night Long…It’s A Long Way To The Top If You Want To Rock And Roll and countless other screamers? He lives in Sarasota Florida. Average age probably 60 plus. That’s okay. Brian is 60. Saturday night, Brian gathered two members of the Who back-up band, the drummer and lead guitar player, the bass player for ACDC and the lead guitar player for Skid Row and put on one of the best FREE hour long concerts I’ve seen in a long time, in the parking lot of a small Irish Bar on Gulfgate Drive in Sarasota. About 200 people showed up. Before the show, I asked The British singer what it felt like to perform rock classics at his ripe old age. He said…”If these reprobates,” referring to the stellar musicians, “can do it, so can I!” Later in the show he said…”I’m glad I don’t do this for a living! Sh–, this is a lot of work.”
I have never see a band work so hard and have so much fun!
Saturday I signed Stuff To Die For at Circle Books on St. Armand Key. It’s a great little book store in Sarasota and I always have a great time. About half way through the signing Jerry Springer showed up. He bought books!!!
    (not mine.)
Sunday Linda and I flew back to Ohio. We went from Sarasota to Baltimore, then to Dayton. Sitting next to me for two hours was actor William H. Macy. We talked about the Hollywood writer strike ( he is in the writer’s union), his wife…Felicity Huffman of Desperate Housewife fame, and his career. Fargo, Bobby, Wild Hogs, etc. What a warm, friendly guy!
It was an intersting couple of days.

    1. And you had the nerve last month to tell me you never meet anybody…

    2. Hope you didn’t sit in the front row for that little shindig. Sounds as if it could have been as loud a show as our Wishbone Ash experience last week.
An interesting couple of days indeed!

    3. Too bad you didn’t have my lyrics before you met those headbangers. Think of how festive that would have been.

Chatting with Macy must have been great. Fargo is of my favorite films.

    4. Your stars must be alligned to meet the famous, Don. All very interesting people. And hey, you missed a great opportunity to be on the Springer show. I can see you now, tossing chairs and your fellow guests. Think of all the publicity!

    5. If anyone saw Macy in Wild Hoggs ( wonderful movie) they are going to do another one. Possibly in Europe. I asked him about the very funny glasses he wears that snap together with a magnet in the middle. “Oh,” he said, “You mean these?” and he snapped his glasses. Rent the movie. You’ll love it. Especially Judy!
